Easy Light Up Fish Tank

Light up fish tank tutorial

Hi Everyone,
I am back with another tutorial today! I have had this idea in my head for ages, but i have never had time to try it. I am so glad i did get round to it as its adorable!! This would be perfect for kids or even us adults! I will be displaying mine in the living room, its gorgeous and looks lovely at night time all lit up.

mini fish tank tutorial, papercrafts,

This little tank is so easy to make and all you need is some Card, acetate, Fish stamps or dies and a Tea light. The Fish i used were just some cheap dies i picked up on Ebay. I will put the links at the end of the post if your interested in them. The coral i used for the back of the tank are Tree dies from Alinacraft. Just use what you have. I am sure you have some Tree dies or even stamps you could use. The background paper is an Under the sea one from HobbyCraft. Again just use what you have. You could even just use glitter card for the back.

  1. I think this is so cute Ann. Would surely go great in a child's room as a night light. Or, in a bathroom as a night light. TYFS

  4. Hi Ann
I LOVED this fish tank, as I love all of your designs!
I made a little adjustment on the lid which you may or may not like, but I thought I'd share :-)
    I made a first lid 6"X 6" scored on all sides at 1 1/2"
I traced the tealight in the middle and cut out a circle (rough cut with scissors - it isn't seen)
I then wedged the tealight into that hole so that it shines down but the switch is easily accessible from above.
I then made a second cap for the lid; 4 1/16" square scored at 1/2" on all sides.
The cap covers the bottom of the tealight but is easily slipped off to switch it on and off. Since the lid and the 'cap" are both black they blend just fine.

  5. Tanks a taller aquarium will allow you to keep taller plants, however a wider aquarium will give you a larger footprint to plant many different foreground, midground, and background plants. https://aquariaguide.com/how-long-can-betta-fish-live-without-food/

  6. And this would be wrong because it would have a bad effect on the small and unique water environment you ought to be striving to create in your aquarium. aquarium lovers
