Hi everyone,
I feel like i need to make this post today as some of you may know i have been attacked on my YouTube channel for 'copying' other You tubers work/projects etc. I find this so upsetting as its simply not true. If i do use ideas or outright 'CASE' a project i will always say.
In the last 2 weeks i have been attacked 3 times for not crediting people. Very rude comments made by 3 different people. I have no idea why this is happening, maybe because i am using chipboard or making craft room storage??? I have no idea.
Let me get a few things straight, i will not tolerate comments like that, you will be blocked. I find it so upsetting as these people have no idea how hard i work! I put hours every day into my channel as thats what it takes to produce 3/4 videos a week. I charge for nothing and all my content is FREE yet i get accused of copying other people.
I have very little time to watch you tube as i am so busy with my Channel, Blog, Kits, Design Team work and of course my Family. I concentrate on my own channel and not others. If someone makes something and then a month later etc i make something similar then i should be crediting this person??? No i don't think so. If i use anyone's idea i will credit that person, if i don't then i am not, its as simple as that.
Do people not realise that going around saying things like that can seriously effect people and there business and.channel??? I am tired of hearing it so please do not bother coming on to state lies about me. I am big enough and old enough to know that if you use someones idea you need to say. I could get picky and list here a good few times i have NOT been given credit for my work. But i just let it go and got on with it.
These people just ruin it for us creators, so many people have quit for the same reasons in the past. I am not going anywhere as i have worked way to hard to just give up.
I will say the same thing again, if i use someones idea i will credit them in my YouTube description or my Blog.

Great, you stick up for yourself and remember you can takes civil action against people who slander you. Perhaps the stupid people who hide behind social media need to be reminded of this. It is no different slandering others online than it is doing it in person except its easier because you don't have to face the person you are lying about!

DeleteLove your blog and your ideas, some people are not happy unless they are putting someone down. Its very easy to hide behind an email name, they would not say the same things to your face, so put it behind you and do your good work.

I also work with my hands and I do know the time involved to do something. You take so much of your time and it is for us, your followers. We will never thank you enough. Somebody wrote above . . . "all of Australia" . . . I am trying to introduce scrapbooking in Africa sooooooooooooooooooooo . . . "all of Africa, too". Keep up your beautiful, gorgeous work!!! and to not pay attention to nasty comments.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear that a few folks are attempting to undermine your confidence and daily attitude and thus your creativity. If they are truly creative and feel there is an issue they will contact you as a human being, not a backstabber. I have followed you for a couple years and see no hint of anything that could be construed as negative or copying and I view many artistic projects each day. Please quickly block them and think happy thoughts(or creative thoughts!)and get on with your day!

I've often heard you credit others, there are always people around who want to cause upset. Keep your chin up and keep those video's coming, I love them and learn so much from them. Thank you x
ReplyDeleteThe problem isn't whether you are copying others its as simple as there are only so many designs out there and if you are making a hat for instance a hat is a hat it is how you decorate it or what you add to it which makes it unique. Therefore those who complain about others using their work or "copying" need to understand that shapes unless they have a patented it do not actually belong to them. I can get an A 4 piece of paper and fold it and fold it again into a square, does not mean that design now belongs to me. It means I made a square, people who complain and lie and are cowards using social media to pop in belittle others and pop out again are really not worth the time and effort to even think about. Please Ann continue your great work and please continue to ignore them as much as possible.

Hello Ann, I'm in agreement with all the others above/below "don't give up". Continue your great talent and keep us keep on watching your videos. You are so inspiring and all your videos I have seen/watched you have given credit and/or said "it's not my idea & don't remember who's it was so I can't take the credit for it". Think it's something like that you say. And, yes, delete them, block them, let them go, I realize it is easier said than done. But, you do have a great following and we will continue to be be for you and with you all the way. So, what are we creating next Ann??? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, hope you are ok, can't believe people can be so nasty, well actually I can. Firstly don't give up your the better person. People who come out with horrible nasty comments are just jealous of you. I was watching an American lady on you tube a few weeks ago and people had been very nasty towards her, they didn't like what she made and they complained about her always wearing blue nail varnish, which by the way is a beautiful colour blue. Anyway Ann try not to take it to much to heart, I love what you make and so do a lot of other ladies, rise above it and dare I say it (stuff em ) You take care hugs from Jan xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jan, I know who you're talking about with the blue nail polish. I can't believe people have been nasty to her about that as well. These kind have nothing better to do, but it still hurts the demonstrators that are trying to teach their craft to us out here.

ReplyDeleteI truly understand - their are just some people out there who are so disrespectful and jealous of wonderful designers like yourself. I've been a designer-successful businesswomen since 1967- had a similar experience on Pinterest where a photo of one design was stating "how I made it" which was incorrect. I left a comment stating the item pictured belonged to me was a "copy write" design and her comment . . I found this person and sued her for Copyright Infringement Fee: $500.00 US dollars fee - hopefully she learns a lesson the hard way . . . .
ReplyDeleteY'know Ann, there are no truly original ideas (or very few) but you can take an idea or have a light bulb 💡 moment and as soon as you put your own spin on it, (and you invariably do), it's an original piece of work, jealous people are bitter people and that's their problem, not yours, keep doing what you do because you do it well 😉
