My Very First Shabby Chic card!

Easy shabby chic cards

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for popping by my Blog today. I am super excited to share my very first shabby chic card with you!! For so long i have admired these types of cards & been so scared to try them. To be honest i had no clue where to even start! I just thought they were way beyond me.

If you follow me, you will no that lately i have been mentioning Lady E Designs. I Love watching this Lady! She is so talented & just makes the most stunning creations. One thing she makes is gorgeous Shabby Chic style cards. I have been admiring them for such a long time. This time i decided to try one for myself. Now i am happy with it, i no its not half as good a some but i am very pleased with the end result.

This card is very different from what i normally do, however i think we all need a change now & then. It helps our creativity. Actually i loved making this & i am 100% sure that i will be doing this again very soon. Since i watched Lady E Designs make her stunning Foamiran Flowers i have been hooked on this type of Shabby look.

Positivelypapercraft, Shabby chic cards,

I suppose the purpose of this post is to say that why not try something new??? Push yourself out of your comfort zone. You never know, you may even fall in love with it. I no i have & they do say a change is as good as a rest.

To make my card i used a pre bought DL card (double length). The background paper is from a Paper Craft Society kit. I used a Woodware paper distress tool for my edges. The leaves i cut from various dies i have and just used scrap paper to cut them from. The Foamiran flowers i made myself and the white straw like stuff is called sisal i believe!.

I hope you like it & i also hope it was a nice change for you to see something different from me.

Thank you & i will be back very soon with another video. In fact i am going to record a video of me making this type of card.

Before i go i would also like to invite you to join Craftworld. Its FREE and full of tips, tricks and tutorials etc. Its a fairly new site and we are hoping to build it up to become bigger and better :-) You can find lots of experts in there including me . Please click my link and come on over.

  1. I have felt the same as you Ann, regarding shabby chic. I like it but have been scared to try it! Your card is lovely and has made me think about just having a go. Take care and stay safe xxx

  2. This is a comment to your last posting . . . the Channel bag . . . I did it . . . unfortunately, I realized I had no black cardstock so I made it in blue . . . What kind of alphabet you used for the "C" of Channel? I die cut an "O" from my large letters die and I cut two C's. I will send you a picture. For the inside I proceeded like the copper bag you did -- attached piece in the inner part. I think it looks gorgeous BUT it would look more gorgeous in black!!!

I love your shabby chic but, I just copy I do not create!!! (Unfortunately!!)

  4. Oh fabulous Ann, I love the colour of the purple flower. This is not my usual style of card either but I do watch Anna-Marie Designs sometimes & this is very much her style so I have had a go also & am always pleased with the result. Look forward to watching the tutorial, which I also love. Keep up the good work Ann x

  5. Well well Ann. Yes, you have stepped out of your comfort zone & in a very good way. This card is beautiful. I have never thought of a card as "shabby chic", but there's no reason not too. I do make quite a few of the interactive cards, since those are the ones I just love making and giving to people. Also love the 3D projects, like your storage boxes, bags, etc. Would love to see the process of you making this card. Be safe & TYFS
